White smoke is water ,suspect head gasket but it could be inlet manifold gasket as well if water heated ,it could also be brake fluid via servo unit ,but diesels have a vacumn pump so if its diesel ignore that one .

Sorry, please describe what you are trying to locate. Is this a diesel? The cures for white smoke for a diesel are a lot different to those for a petrol engine. Please get back to us so we can help you and also help others if you have already found the solution to this problem.

White smoke is ok on starting. Changing the engine oil and air filter should do it.

Car starts ok will idle but when you go to drive over 1500 revs car stutters and blows out clean smoke (fule not oil)

Does it overheat at all?

White smoke? or Dark grey smoke?

Could be Oxygen sensor (grey) or head gasket (white).

White smoke occasionally coming out of my Altima tail pipes.

If there is no loss of Coolant, which is a sign of Head gasket failure to the combustion area, which generates white smoke, I would recommend after 4000 miles of your mileage alone, a complete Service of Engine Oil and filter, AIR filter and Fuel filter.
An inexpensive way to find a recurring combustion problem, At 60k miles, the Spark plugs should still be good, but pull them anyway, just to confirm.

Big puff of white smoke at start up after sitting for several hours.

white smoke is water
blue smoke is oil.
nest time try and smell the white smoke see if it smells sweet?
if it does its antifreeze.
and also black smoke is fuel (like a leaky injector )
hope this helps
