No lights/power 2 heater/ac control w Recirc button 92 chevy 1500

The heater quit blowing warm air for a couple of days and then lost all power to the heat/ac control panelI have the same problem....92 k1500 with 350. No lights on to the unit in the dash. Checked the fuses and none are blown and also checked with circuit tester, and have power to 3 or 4 wires, but no lights. Got a used one from a u pull, but it didnt have a recirc button like mine. Harness matched up, but no joy on the power with it too. Dont know if it was toast as well, or if just not compatable.

Is there a way to test the unit before i try to get another one, or any info on which pins needs to have power on the harness or even which conectors to bridge just to get an on/off switch for a fan setting, any fan setting, and the defroster? Can i bridge 2 of the contacts somehow to test and make sure the wireing is working and the power is working etc? i dont want to accidentally fry wireing just doing it blind.

I can deal with the cold, but having to pull over and scrape the inside of the windshield due to breathing in the cab sucks!

YOU NEED TO CHECK YOUR FUSES! EVEN IF IT DOESN'T LOOK BURNT RE-PLACE IT ANYWAY!
IF THAT DOESNT SOLVE IT YOUR GOING TO NEED TO CHECK THE BLOWER MOTOR UNDER THE HOOD TO THE PASS SIDE OF THE FIREWALL- MAKE SURE IT IS PROPERLY GROUNDED & pluged IN.. IF ALL ELSE FAIL'S= RE-PLACE BLOWER MOTOR...

AC clutch is going to the dogs. Or the high pressure switch is giving it up. This is assuming AC belt is not slipping. Also check the system charge as it may need recharging.

AC blows cold but when will not stay in recirculate mode

It is possible that your heater control valve is not restricting the water flow to your heater control valve when placed in the AC position.

2005 Toyota Corolla air conditioner is cold but

The air flow does not 'increase' with the recirc button pressed. The fan motor blows at specific speeds, no matter whether fresh or recirc is selected. The recirc feature is there so that you do NOT admit 'fresh/hot' air from the outside into the AC box. In short, the recirc feature is to re-use, or, recirculate the existing air in the car. When it is properly working, on a hot day, the recirc selection should drop the internal temperature at the center air vent about 6 degrees lower than with the fresh selected.

2004 Odyssey, heat and A/C do not work unless van in motion

Since warm air eventually comes out when the vehicle is in motion, you may have an air mix door that is stuck in fresh or is somehow blocking warm air from the heater core.

To see if the air mix control motor is bad, you need to retrieve your Diagnostic trouble codes (DTC's) from the heater control panel. To run the diagnostic function, do the following:
1. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
2. Turn the fan switch OFF.
3. Press the recirc control button to select Recirc (recirc light on.)
4. Press and hold the recirc button to select Fresh (recirc light off) and continue to hold the button down until the recirc light comes on for two seconds and then goes off.
5. If the system is okay, the recirc light stays off.
6. If there is a problem, the recirc light blinks the DTC to indicate the trouble. One blink=a problem in the air mix control motor circuit. Two blinks=problem in the mode control motor circuit
Three blinks=problem in evaporator temp sensor circuit.
7. Turn the ignition switch off to cancel the self diagnosis function. Run the diagnostic again after repairs are complete.

Note: the air mix control motor has a rod which connects to a plastic link. The link controls the mix doors and also connects to the heater control water valve via a cable. The air mix motor may check okay, but if the link is broken then you will still have problems. the motor is on the bottom of the heater unit in the front passenger's foot well.

Hot air blowing with climate control off.

you may have an air mix motor problem or a mode control motor problem. there is a test you can do that may help: 1. turn the ignition switch on. 2. turn the fan switch off. 3. press the recirc control button to select recirc (recirc indicator light comes on.) 4. press and hold the recirc button to select fresh (recirc indicator goes off). Continue to hold the the button down until the recirc indicator comes on for two seconds and then goes off. If the system is okay, the recirc indicator will stay off. If there is a problem, the recirc indicator blinks a code to indicate a fault. 1 blink=air mix control motor/circuit fault. 2 blinks= mode control motor/circuit fault. 3 blinks= evaporator temp sensor circuit fault. In case of multiple problems, the recirc indicator will only blink the code with the least number. write back if this test shows a code and we'll go from there.
