Ok lets start with is your truck a 4x4 or 2wheel drive? if a 4x4 check to see if your 4wd shifter didn't get knocked into neutral and that it is engaged properly in 2wd mode... if it is a pushbutton check that as well..

Does the Shifter Feel normal you feel it engage? if yes then you know shifter linkage is fine problem lies somewhere else..
Next when did this happen while driving did you hear a bang and then nothing?? maybe you Blew out the rear or boke a driveshaft. or Universal joint? this all will be noisy

or maybe you burned the clutch to the point it melted? it will stink badly and seem to linger forever in the air

has it sounded lateley noisier and noisier if so mabe throwout bearing burned up and broke something under the truck

please respond back with more detail and your findings

good luck

other then you being out of fluid I say you hosed the clutch ... yours is just hydraulic so its either the slave cylinder or the clutch pressureplate or throwout bearing

    ... Best of luck

My husband replace a clucth in my son's friend car; now the gear shift will not go into reverse. What could be the problem and how can he fix it?

If it has a clutch cable,it needs adjusting,if it does not, then bleed the hydraulic slave cylinder.

I have a 2003 Tiburon GT 6spd and for some reason it won't go into gear on occassion. I can put the clutch to the floor and (i've only tried this once) pushed on the shifter with most of my strength and it...

dear friend-i dont believe your problem is gearbox related but more the clucth,a simple test can give you a idea to the problem, switch the engine off then run threw all the gears, check the travel on gear 3 should be the same as 1 and 5 check for obstruction at gear shift on gear, should this test turn out fine then bleed clucth or replace

Clucth not disengauging....

try this.you have 2 shifter cables.one is select cable the other is shift cable.first put the transmission selector lever in neutral.then move transmission shift lever to 4th gear.depress clutch to if necessary to shift.move the shift lever to the 4th gear position until contacts stop.then you turn the adjuster turn buckle so the shift cable eye aligns with the eye in the gear shift lever.when installing the cable eye. make sure the flange side of plastic bushing at the shift cable end is on the cotter pin side.the cables should be adjusted so the clearance between the shift lever and both stoppers are equal when the shift lever is moved to 3rd and 4th gear. move the shift lever to each position and check that the shifting is smooth.
