Question about 2002 Nissan Maxima

Will not crank

When I turn the ignition over to crank the car it sounds like it wants to crank. And it sounds like it's trying to catch but it never does. I have full power. All the lights and radio work. It does not give me that clicking sound you hear when trying to crank the car.

The ignition cranks, but won't turn over.

SOunds like you have a vacuum hose either not connected somewhere or leaking. go under your hood and inspect all of the hoses that are about the width of a pen. you shoulod find your problem there.

Crank sensor

If the crank or cam sensors failed, they would cause the computer to turn the check engine light on and set a trouble code. If you can catch it when it won't start and check the ignition and fuel system you may be able to narrow down the options.

My car will not crank. i have replaced starter, wiring, battery cables, timing belt. it will turn over and try to catch but will not crank

Please explain - when you say it wont crank - do you mean the engine does not turn over when turning the ignition key to the start position? or does it turn over but does not fire up?

Hyundai tucson turns over initially and cranks. after making several stops it takes longer and longer to turn over. already changed the battery but still doing it. doesn't make a dead battery sound. sounds...

sometimes the selenoid when going out will do that, work right away then not catch for several trys, you might take it in to be tested or just replace it most are not very expensive unless it is directly on the starter then you have to replace starter to get new selenoid
