Question about Toyota Camry
Toyota Camry 1991 Ultima
I had a flat battery because the door lights stay on. I slammed each door but it doesnt go off. I looked at the manual and the fuse (no.5- Dome 7.5A)that is suppose to control the interior lights, personal lights, trunk room light ignition switch, clock and open door warning light has a black plastic fuse in it so in a sense it doesnt have a fuse.
At the moment I am disconnecting the car battery, but how can I fix this?
The warning light for the trunk door of my 2002 Kia Optima stays on all the time. It's running my battery down, but the battery still tests good and can be easily recharged. I've had it charged 3 times to start the car, so I need to figure out how to get that warning light to go off. My garage charges a lot for any work on the electrical system, so I'd rather get rid of the warning light if that would sove the problem.
Replace the door ajar switch that is defective, short answer. But the issue here is any of the doors can cause the problem, since in order to replace this tiny switch the door panel must be removed to access the door latch the smart thing to do is have the dealer scan the BCM (body control module) and see which switch is causing the problem. Cost will be about $300.00 depending on where you live

There has been known issues with the alternator on several year/versions of this car. If memory serves me right, there was a TSB for the alternator either over or undercharging. The TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) specifies replacing the alternator and re-flashing the PCM.(Powertrain Control Mudule).
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards.
Thank you for using FixYa.

There is a good chance it could be your fuel pump , however if the check engine light is coming on and the dealer cant tell you what is wrong , try a different dealer or another shop. Second opinions never hurt.

The relay (fuse type thing located under the hood) was good as well. If that is the case then the motor is the issue. or the switch itself.

SOURCE: Can't get car out of park!!
This may seem like a silly solution but it's worth a try if it gets you out of this jam. I believe the Kia has a safety feature where it won't let you shift the car out of park unless the break peddle is fully depressed. Try stomping on the break peddle while you start the car. Then see if it will let you shift out of park. If this doesn't work try pumping the break peddle a few times and try it again. If this doesn't work check the fuse box. Maybe the fuse for the actuator in the gear shift lever that lets you take it out of park is burnt out. I hope this helps you out.

my advise to you is not to attempt a repair to the airbag system yourself. The airbag module can be set off by static electricty & goes off with the force of a shotgun blast
