If you mean the door lock actuator you have to grind or cut or drill the rivit that holds it. Then you will need a 1/4" pop rivit to hold new one on.

Temperature Blend Door Actuator - LH Removal and Installation
NOTE: It is not required to install the new LH temperature blend door linkage parts included in the LH temperature blend door actuator service part kit if only the temperature blend door actuator requires replacement and the linkage parts are not broken or binding.

  1. Remove the 2 lower steering column opening cover bolts.
  1. Detach the lower steering column opening cover.
  1. Disconnect the in-vehicle temperature sensor aspirator hose and electrical connector.
  1. Position the instrument panel wire harness away from the LH temperature blend door actuator.
  1. Remove the 3 LH temperature blend door actuator screws.
  1. Disconnect the LH temperature blend door actuator electrical connector.
  1. Remove the LH temperature blend door actuator.
  1. Manually operate, and inspect the LH temperature blend door linkage for incorrect placement, binding or damage.

  1. Remove the RH lower instrument panel insulator.
  1. Remove the RH lower floor console trim panel.
  1. Remove the 3 RH temperature blend door actuator screws.
  1. Disconnect the RH temperature blend door actuator electrical connector.
  1. Remove the RH temperature blend door actuator.
  1. Manually operate, and inspect the RH temperature blend door linkage for incorrect placement, binding or damage.

  3. Removal and Installation
    NOTE: The defrost/panel/floor mode door actuator can be accessed from below the driver side of the instrument panel.
    NOTE: It is not required to install the new defrost/panel/floor mode door linkage parts included in the defrost/panel/floor mode door actuator service part kit if only the mode door actuator requires replacement and the linkage parts are not broken or binding.

    1. Remove the 3 defrost/panel/floor mode door actuator screws.
    1. Disconnect the defrost/panel/floor mode door actuator electrical connector.
    1. Remove the defrost/panel/floor mode door actuator.
    1. Manually operate, and inspect the defrost/panel/floor mode door linkage for incorrect placement or damage.
    Mode door actuator linkage only
    1. Remove the mode door linkage.
      1. Depress the tab and remove the panel door lever.
      1. Remove the floor/defrost door intermediate lever screw and floor/defrost door intermediate lever.
      1. Pull straight outward to remove the floor/defrost door lever.
    Mode door actuator and linkage
    1. NOTE: When installing the mode door actuator, make sure that the panel door lever and floor/defrost intermediate lever are correctly aligned with the mode door actuator cam.
      To install, reverse the removal procedure.

It has duel climate controls. With both set to 60, driver's side blows hot while passenger's side blows cool. What does it sound like

Removal Procedure





  1. Remove the right sound insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.


  2. Remove the instrument panel compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Storage Compartment Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.


  3. Unsnap the rod from the plastic retainer on the actuator arm.

  4. Remove the two screws from the actuator (2).


  5. Disconnect the electrical connector (1).


  6. Remove the actuator (2).


  7. Inspect the air mix door for free travel.

Where is the air door actuator located on 2000 chev astro?


Looks to be 2 actuators on your vehicle. They are vacuum controlled.

Below as you can see, I have included the instructions for getting at the actuators.

For the left side, in step one, you need to remove the floor air outlet. I have included that instruction further down the list.
Mode Valve Actuator Replacement - Left Side Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the floor air outlet (center) from the vehicle.
  2. Remove the vacuum connector.
  3. Slide the actuator off the mounting bracket in order to remove the actuator.
  4. Rotate the mode door linkage down.
  5. Rotate the actuator (2) so that the actuator linkage slips off the post on the mode door linkage.
Remove the actuator linkage from the mode door linkage.
Remove the IP extension.
Remove the floor air outlet duct from the air distributo
Remove the bucket seats.
Remove the front section of the carpet, if equipped
Remove the retaining nuts from the floor outlet duct, if equipped.Remove the floor air outlet from the ducts to the rear seat, if equipped.Mode Valve Actuator Replacement - Right Side
Removal Procedure
Remove the passenger knee bolster.
  1. Remove the cowl side trim panel. Important: Note the color and the location of the vacuum lines at the actuator.
  2. Remove the vacuum lines.
  3. Slide the actuator off the mounting bracket in order to remove the actuator.
Rotate the mode door linkage down.
Rotate the actuator so that the actuator linkage slips off the post on the mode door linkage.Remove the actuator from the mode door linkage.

Removal Procedure
Remove the caps that cover the extension screws.
  1. Remove the screws from the extension.
Remove the nuts at the bottom of the extensionPull toward the rear of the vehicle in order to remove the extension from the instrument panel.
Disconnect the electrical connectors.

How to remove the in door of a 1990 bmw 325i? And also the drivers door will not lock when i turn the key the other doors lock but the drivers door doesnt how should i go about fixing that?


Sounds like you need to replace the power door lock actuator for the driver's door.


E30 Models
  1. Remove the door panel and the water shield.
  2. Disconnect the wiring from the actuator. Remove the screws and pull the actuator off the linkage.
  3. When installing, move the actuator and linkage to the locked position.
  4. Connect the linkage to the actuator and loosely install with the screws.
  5. Compress the actuator drive to take out any play in the linkage and tighten the screws.
  6. Test the locks and install the door panel.

E36 Models
  1. Remove the door panel and water shield.
  2. On the front doors, remove the guide rail nut and pull the guide rail down. Disconnect the wiring and the linkage from the actuator.
  3. On the rear doors, remove the window and the access panel. Disconnect the wiring and the linkage from the actuator.
  4. Remove the 3 bolts holding the latch and actuator to the door structure.
  5. Install in reverse order using threadlocker on the bolts.

REMOVAL:
1.Remove the front door trim panel.
2.Remove the water shield.
3.Remove the power door lock actuator.
4.Disconnect the electrical connector.
5.Drill out the rivet.
6.Disconnect the actuator rod.
7.Remove the actuator.

no it doesnt ... check out heatertreaters.net if you have to replace the blend doors .... but the actuator is directly behind the glove box...remove the glove box take out 3 screws and remove actuator and replace.....waa laa
