Buy a new fuel filter. the old one is probably not letting enough fuel feed through to the engine. if you do not replace it soon you are looking at a high dollar repair...

Go to this website on the left task bar pick recalls then insert your VIN and see if your vehicle is not involved in recall 07S57 for camshaft postion sensor. This may be what is causing your concern.

Van dormant for three years. installed new battery, started and ran good for two hours, died, fuel guage malfunctioned(still),radio stopped working(still),i.e.,no 12 volts to orange wire. installed new...

The fuel gauge is probably fine, its the sending unit that is probably bad. As far as the radio I would run another power wire from 1 of the accessory ports on the fuse box. Just make sure you test the port so it goes on and off with your ignition. Just test the port with a light tester. Please rate answer!! Thank you

Will run fine for about 4 mile then start missing and then stop running, aftre letting set for about an hour it will start and run for about another four or five minutes and then quit. acts like it does...

I recently had about the same problem with my c1500. You have a tach watch tach if needle jumps your problem is electical. Test coil, distributor pick-up coil and ignition control module. This time mine was the pick-up coil which requires distributer removal. Both coils can be tested by an Ohmn meter, the module must be removed and tested by auto parts store. All three can cause this problem. As they get hot they short out when they cool they work fine. If you pull the distributer cap look at the wires for the pick-up coil mine were cracked from age, which caused shorting while driving and then it would die. when cooled it would crank.

Wiring? emergency brake light?

it sounds like the switch in back of emergency brake is bad or out of adjustment.the switch must be grounding out to make car quit. without looking at it, I would say it is the switch.

1996 mercury villager quits running

It may be the camshaft sensor in the distributor. Sometimes the optical sesor can be cleaned. Most times, need new distributor or reman from ebay.
do not replace the knock sensor, it is never bad. ANd, it is in the middle of the engine. $1000 repair for nothing.

See this ste too.

Starting fine, driving fine, but dies while going down the road

Next time disconnect the negative and not the positive if it ever happens again. This happened due to the PCM needing to be reset.
