Question about 1998 Buick LeSabre
My uncle gave me a 1998 Buick lesabre
and says it will run and drive fine and then sometimes the lights on the
climate control will flash and go crazy for a few minutes then stop
and then the car will randomly die
I was thinking the ELC is going bad but don't really know
any ideas>? he said the Auto shop wanted to start replacing parts with out knowing the problem and charge him 800 dollars for each sensor and computer module
I would say your best bet is to take it to the dealer and pay the $30 to have them run a computer check on it. Tell them you want a printout. They will probably be a little reluctant to give you a printout, but hey...if you are paying for them to tell you the problem, you should have the proof. Not all but some dealerships will tell you it is like a $400 part deep inside the dash that you can get to without special tools. When in all reality, it is as simple as a vacuum hose. That is why I work on them myself!
