With my 98 Taurus with the same problem, simply replacing the fuse solved both problems. The fuse is under the hood - it was the small 30amp on the toward the engine side under the relays.

I have a 97 honda civic ex coupe when I turn on my headlights my right blinkers wonk work but when the headlights are off they work help

Sounds like a problem in the headlight switch, or multi-function switch, or light control module, if vehichle is equipped with one. I'm not real familiar with Hondas.

Daytime Running Lights Inoperative 2002 Toyota Camry

[Information] For a 2002 Toyota Camry, the Daytime Running Lights (DRL) operate utilizing the High Beams (inner Lamps closer to the center of the vehicle front) at a reduced power.

[The troubleshooting process:] Review the Owner's Manual and ensure the test configuration matches the following criteria:
1. According to the 2002 Toyota Camry Owner's Manual (Check your Owners Manual):
"The DRL system will make your headlights come on at a reduced brightness when:
The light switch s in the "DRL" position.
The ignition is on with the engine running.
The headlight switch is off.
The parking brake is released."

2. Set the Test Conditions according to Step 1 above.

3. Check the headlight bulbs to ensure they are not burned out. If one burns out, there is a fair chance that the other would have burned out at the same time. Replace as necessary. In this case, if the high beams operate, the DRLs should also operate.
4. Test the system, ensuring the step 1 conditions are set. (Engine running, Multi-function Switch on Turn Signals in "DRL" position, headlight switch off (repeating what the manual says -- it should be obvious that in the "DRL" position, the headlight switch should be off / do not have the switch positioned to "High Beam"), and the Parking Brake "off").
5. If DRL lights do not work, check the engine compartment Fuse and Relay Box. there is a 5 Amp DRL fuse -- replace it with the spare. Test (step 4).
6. If it does not work, swap around or replace relays -- there are three (3). Any one of them could be bad (stuck or burned out). Test (step 4).
7. Other less likely possible issues could be that the Multi-function Switch is broken or a connection / wire is broken. [Beyond the scope of this process.]

My problem was that the test configuration did not have the engine running and parking brake off - Step 1. Problem solved with much thought, repetitive tests on the vehicle and going back to the basics -- what does the Owner's Manual say and where are the applicable fuses and relays located?

Both headlights quit working simotaneously

There are just (3) possible reasons for this:
(a) your headlight switch has failed, or
(b) your headlight relay has failed.
(c) Fuse 1 (25 Amps) has blown

The headlight relay and fuse 1 are located (I think) in a fuse/relay block under the hood.
The headlight switch is part of the "Multi-function Switch" on the steering column.

Here's how to replace the 2001 PT Cruiser multi-function switch:

archaeology_27.jpg
Multi-Function Switch Removal & Installation
1. Open the hood.
2. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
3. Remove both upper and lower steering column shrouds.
4. Disconnect both posi-lock harness connectors at the rear of the multi-function switch.
5. Remove multi-function switch mounting screws and remove switch from vehicle.

To Install the new multi-function switch:

Note:
If replacing the multi-function switch, the combination flasher and windshield wiper/washer switch
must be transferred to the new multi-function switch.

1. Remove the two Torx(R) screws retaining the wiper/washer switch, place next to the new
multi-function switch and install two screws.
2. Place switch into place and install mounting screws. Torque multi-function switch to column
retaining screws to 27 inch-lbs. (3 Nm).
3. Connect both posi-lock harness connectors at the rear of the multi-function switch.
4. Install both upper and lower steering column shrouds.
5. Connect the battery negative cable.
6. Close hood.
7. Verify vehicle and system operation.

2001 Ford Cargo Van My headlights won't come on but the parking lights do. I don't have a diagram for the power distribution box and I wanted to know which fuse controlled the headlights. where can i...

FUSES # 25,30 & 31 IN THE CENTRAL JUNCTION BOX ALL HAVE TO DO WITH THE HEADLIGHTS & THE GROUND FOR THE LIGHTS IS BEHIND THE LEFT HEADLIGHT. THE MULTI FUNCTION SWITCH & THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH ARE ALSO INVOLVED. YOU MIGHT WANT TO LOOK AT THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH UNPLUG & INSPECT FOR LOOSE OR BURNED TERMINALS.

1993 eagle talon headlight problem

1st, it is not normal on this car for the lights or your cluster lights to be on during the day. It has no sensor for day/night and was not an option on these cars.

Sounds like someone has rewired your lights somewhere to run when the ignition is on. If you are lucky, you 'll be able to recognize a difference in a stock wire harness and an altered one. If it was done, more correctly, it will be much harder to find. It may also be under the driver side dash at the console.

It will be from the multi-position lightswitch to an ignition wire. A wiring diagram would help. Be cautious though. This may have been done to bypass a non-working switch like the connections you found.

Headlights won't go on; brights, parking lights OK

Hello,I see you have a problem with your low beams inoperative. It sounds as if your multi function switch has either gone bad. If you will dim and brighten your lights the switch may go back to working. You have to shake it in all directions. If they come back to working you will want to replace the switch as soon as posible on this car. Please rate this answer, Thank you.
