Try turning the ignition key to "on" (not start), and, within 5 seconds, step on the gas petal three times (all the way to the floor)- your oil change light will flash the times indicating it has been reset.
In Ford Taurus X, after an oil change, the oil life indicator can be reset to 100% by holding the reset (system check) button. It will prompt you whether you want to reset to 100%. Set it and it will come back to 100%. This step takes hardly 10 seconds.
This is done by turning the key on engine off and fully pressing the gas pedal to the floor sloowly three times within 5 seconds, the light will blink and go off then turn the key off for 3 sec and start engine, light should be off if not repeat steps. hope this helps.
1993 BROUGHAM & 1993-96 FLEETWOOD Oil Life Indicator 1. Oil life indicator will display CHANGE OIL when oil change is needed, based upon engine oil temperatures and driving patterns. After changing oil, reset oil life indicator. 2. To reset, turn ignition switch to ON position. Do not start engine. Fully press and release accelerator pedal 3 times within 5 seconds. If CHANGE OIL light comes on and stays on for 5 seconds, it did not reset. Reset system again.
With the ignition
key in RUN but engine off, repeatedly push the trip reset button
until OIL is displayed on the driver info center. Once OIL is
displayed, push and hold the reset button for five seconds. The
number will disappear and be replaced by 100% of oil life remaining.
The percentage will return to 100 and oil life indicator will be
reset. Repeat steps if not reset to 100. Good luck
Check with owners manual to see if this code indicates a change oil or low oil pressure. To be sure, check engine oil level before starting vehicle. If this is a change oil indicator, the owners manual will give the steps required to clear.

[quote] The "Change
Oil" indicator is reset by using a sequence of Driver Information Center
(DIC) key presses as follows:
1. Turn ignition "ON", but do not start engine. (ALDL pin
"G" should NOT be grounded.)
2. Press the "ENG/MET" button and release, then, within 5 seconds,
press it again.
3. Within 5 seconds of Step 2, press and hold the "GAUGES" button.
While the button is held, the "Change Oil" indicator will flash.
4. Continue holding the "GAUGES" button until the "Change
Oil" indicator stops flashing and goes out, indicating successful
completion of the reset cycle. This should take about 10 seconds.
If it does not successfully reset, turn ignition "OFF" and repeat
the procedure from Step 1.
