Question about 2001 Toyota Sienna

1 Answer

2001 Toyota Sienna SES light is on and is bank 2 too lean. Changed the O2 sensors & sparkplugs. Only run high octane fuel since it came on. Also had 1x the knock sensor come on. This has been ongoing for a while. Converter was checked and I was told it was fine. After the last code reset, my mechanic tried adding some fuel additive. Did not change the wires/boots when the spark plugs were done. Could there be arcing from a bad wire that would cause this problem?

Hi, I have a VW EOS 2007, check eng light on, 008583 - Bank 1; System too Lean at Idle P2187 - 004 - - MIL ON, then, 004369 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor Regulation: Bank 1

The O2 sensor is most likely the issue. Also, try cleaning the Throttle Body Injector with cauberator cleaner or tbi injector. Build up within the TBI may be causing a gas deficiency which causes it to run lean. If that doesn't help, try running a higher octane fuel, about 93 octane minimum. This will causes ANY debree in the injectors to be cleared.

P0131 sabb 93 2001 po121 error codes

P0131 - O2 Sensor Circuit Low Voltage Bank 1 Sensor 1 (sensor is before the catalytic converter)

Possible causes- Front Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 1 harness is open or shorted
- Front Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 1 circuit poor electrical connection
- Faulty Front Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 1
- Inappropriate fuel pressure
- Faulty fuel injectors
- Intake air leaks may be faulty
- Exhaust gas leaks
P0132 - O2 Sensor Circuit High Voltage Bank 1 Sensor 1

I am not really sure what is going on here with the same O2 sensor giving these lean and rich codes, if nothing else is apparent and the engine runs well you may have a defective O2 sensor.

2007 Toyota sienna V6 P2197 code from Autozone diagnostic.

Solved. I have 2008 Sienna with Check Engine and VSC lights on. Scanned codes were P0051 and P2197. Oxygen Sensor Bank 2 Sensor 1 needs to be replaced. You can see this sensor on the right side of the engine when you open up the hood. You need to get an Oxygen Sensor socket (I used Tekton 7/8in 22mm which costs $9) and a wrench extension to reach it. Spraying liquid wrench a few times on the base of the old sensor also helped to loose it. The replacement sensor I used was Denso 234-9049 which costs $85 from eBay. Lights went off after the sensor was replaced. It took me 30 minutes to replace.

2001 toyota sienna 02 heater circuit bank 1 sensor 2

Sound like a DTC P0141 - O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1, Sensor 2)

A code P0141 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
* open or short to ground in the wiring harness
* O2 heater circuit wiring high resistance
* O2 heater element resistance is high
* Internal short or open in the heater element

Note: Typically a failed catalytic converter does not cause this code. You're more likely to see a P0420 code for a failed converter.
