Question about 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe

Heater problem hey there have a hyundai santa fe 2.0 crdi 16v 2003 and when the engine is running and i turn on the internal heaters the engine rad fan cuts in and when i turn off the internal heaters the rad fan cuts out .if i don't use the internal heaters the rad fan works as normal

Is your heater set on defrost this will cause your engine fan to run because it turns on the compressor for air conditioner this helps to extract moisture from your warm air defrost  and the fan in the engine compartment helps keep it the engine cool from the extra load on the engine this is normal

not all cars have a block heater put if it does it could go into a hose or a freeze plug and some just bolt to the side of the block follow the cord

Are you sure it's a 2.0 engine,I have a 2.4 ,a 2.7 and 3.5 engine showing for this vehicle.

Hi Mark, I've just had the same problem with my 2007 Sante Fe. After replacing water pump, radiator, thermostat, etc, turns out it was the cylinder head gasket. No water in oil, but engine pressurises the water system, blowing water out the overflow. Cheers

The fastest way is to remove the rad and move the engine ahead enough to change the clutch. Be sure to support the trans. Otherwise you will be into a lot of work under the truck. Frankster016

It sounds like the switch for the blower went out, but all the fuses are in 2 places. lower left panel on drivers side and in the engine compartment.
