Knock sensor is located on the block usually under the intake. nissan has problems with these sensors. i have chaunged plenty of these on nissans in the past year. this has no affect on your gas mileage. this sensor picks up misfires on the engine. sometimes you might have rough idle and can't feel it in the drivers seat but the knock sensor can. i would suggest maybe a tune up spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter first before going to take apart a bunch of things to change a sensor. the sensor is designed to pick up any differences in motor quality and will throw the engine light on. sometimes the problem is the knock sensor, or there is an underlying cause that the knock sensor is reading.

Reset service engine soon light

You have a real auto repair shop ( not auto parts store) look at stored codes, & any freeze frame data
Do not clear the dash light or you loose data & ability

Service enj soon lite

Try resetting the computer. Disconnect your battery for 5-10 minutes and reconnect. This should get rid of the light if the gas cap was the problem. If it comes back on take it to an Advanced Auto or Auto zone and get an Engine Diagnostic, they're free. Hope this helps

I have a 2000 buick lesabre. The fix engine soon

It NEVER was the camshaft sensor! Unless, you've removed the engine lately, which I doubt.
RUN to Advance Auto Parts and buy a can of "SeaFoam" and add to your gas tank per instructions...drive at least 100 miles and the problem should go away...IF it doesn't you'll have to replace the O2 sensors in the exhaust system...Any good mechanic should be able to do this for much less $$ than the dealership DO NOT go to the dealer for repairs!
Good Luck

1998 Nissan Frontier Serice Engine Soon Light Problems

Auto zones computer **** not trying to be rude but Im not to fond of there $99 diag tool. Anyways have you tried the dealer, to see if maybe your light may just be a computer glitch or doubtly a maint. light going on and off. Its to bad its not reading it as a hard code. but you could go buy a repaire book and see if it can tell you how to use the OBD II to make the codes flash when the light is on. just a thought for you.
