SOURCE: 95 ford explorer over drive light flashig shifting

First of all get your tranmission fluid and filter changed not flushed, second of all their is a wire underneath that plugs into the tranny that is held on by a bolt clip, if this wires rubs through and grounds out which it usually does it will take out your over drive and the light will flash, your top speed will be 45 MPH.

SOURCE: 2004 f150 transmission fault light

I have an '04 F150 and I had an OD problem that was the same as you are having now, I brought it to a deqaler they told me that I needed a new trans or a rebuilt trans, I disagreed with them becaus the truck shifted fine until the OD gears. I brought it to a transmission shop and they removed the valve body the found a broken clip that got wedged under the valve and would not allow it to open therefore rendering the OD useless and giving a flashing OD light. it cost me $403.00 to repair and have not had a problem with it since. I would call a ****** shop in the area I had my truck back the next day. hope this helps.

Clanking noise coming from Allison Transmission on a 2001 Chrevrolet Silverado 8.1 Liter engine

this does sound like theres a loose line tapping the engine/frame,during warm up the engine idles faster which could make it vibrate faster causing the the clanking or tapping noise,if this has started after trans fluid change, then check the lines running from the trani to radiator sometimes the service person might bang into something causing plastic clips that hold the lines to break, try getting under it and have someone start the truck and listen to see where it's coming from also hold the lines & see if the noise stops, the service guy could have unbolted something & never put the bolt back causing the clank ex.line may have a clip holding it thats bolted to the trani pan ?good luck

I have a 99 tahoe 4X4 4 dr. that has a drive line clunking problem when I start and stop, seems to be coming from rear of vehicle and getting worse........HELP Please...

It may be a u-joint, check that.If the driveshaft moves back and forth due to worn u-joints, replace both of them. Also the splines going into transmission on driveshaft tend to form a groove causing it to 'clank' upon starting/stopping. Chevy offers a nickel-plated yoke to replace the offending part. Do not plate yours as it will not fit after. If you don't replace it, you can grease it and the problem will go away for a while till the grease wears thin and the noise returns. If that's the case it's a very common problem you can find it and the solution easily all over the internet. I suspect it will be u-joints or notched yoke. Lastly, it may be a rear-end that needs the lash adjusted. On my truck the sound is a clank that doesn't sound horrible just annoying and a little worrisome till I knew what it was. The GM clank baby, been around for years. If it is u-joints you'd be getting vibration at speed that gets worse and worse till it's unbearable.

you will not lose the codes they will come back, head to a transmission shop, there is a internal problem and the longer you drive it the more internal damage is being done.

2002 ford exploder od light flashing, while going down the road about 35 clanked like it droped in neutral no slipping just no go drained fluid no cluch matter or metal in fluid, hooked up code reader no...

check the shifter cable at the bracket on the transmission and see if it has broken at the sheath this will cause the cable to move the transmission shifter arm on the side of the transmission into neutral and thus you will be stuck there try to get someone to shift the gears while your watching the cable this is a very common problem and being that your truck is now 15-16 years old depending on build date on the door sticker this is most likely the cause of your problem here when you look at the cable grab the black sheath and try moving it back and forth if it does and you can see the cables heath is separated than you just hit the jackpot and go buy a new shifter cable good luck stephen
