How to torque crankshaft pulley centre bolt on kia sportage

Usually with a heavy duty impact wrench (rattle gun). Put some thread-lock compound on the bolt also, as that is standard practice.

There may be at the transmission end some means of stopping the crank from turning, and then you could use a torque wrench.

1996 Saturn SL 1. Does the crankshaft pulley bolt requeire sealer?

According to a book, I don't know, but my rule of thumb is to put red loctite (Loctite 277) on all bolts for flywheel or anything ataching to the crank that I don't want comming off. Then again I work on diesel applications so my rule of thumb for auto could be off base. One thing though, when using loctite you take the dry torque spec of the bolt and multiply by 75% or 0.75 and that is your new torque spec. also anything touching a crankshaft or camshaft i would sugest using new bolt and or nuts.

I need the engine timing and the crank pulley torque specs.

Once you align the top and bottom timing marks, and install the belt and tight the belt tensioner, you are done, there is no distributor to adjust ignition timing, it is computer controlled. The torque for the crankshaft bolt is 80 foot pounds. Hope this helps, let me know.

What is the torque spec for the crank pulley bolt on a 95 gmc jimmy? never torqued down to specs, could that be the reason it falls off after a month or two of driving?

The torque is 70 lb. ft.

Before reinstalling the balancer check the key way for wear both on the balancer and the crankshaft. Also when reinstalling the balancer on the crankshaft it should be a press fit. A crankshaft balancer installer kit is needed to get the balancer bottomed out in other words.

Use some sealer on the key way to prevent an oil leak.
