Question about 2003 Saab 9-3
Sounds like antennae mast drive cable has broken. remove nut holding antennae to body(17mm) try to pull mast and cable from top. if broken you must remave side cover from trunk remove antenna mechanism, remove cover paying close attn. to shims, remove second cover wich spools antennae cable, pull out old bits of cable. If you can get the second inside cover new, often called the drum, replace it,as sometimes mast still wont work properly when put together, wont pull down all the way, but if you cant get one i would try it anyway. put housing back together install unit back in car except for top nut, then with a helper turn radio on wait for antenna motor to stop, then with teeth on antennae mast cable facing forward, turn radio off on feed ant. mast in. secure with top nut..sometimes youll need to cycle a couple times to pull down completely. dont lube mast, clean only with alcohol or rag.

Had same problem, in the boot right hand side, behind the removable panel there is :
1 - a hydraulic reservoir which must be at correct level.
2 - a black box (stc) this controls the roof system,
switch ignition off then pull the 2 connectors off for 30sec then reconnect.
This worked and hope this resolves your problem

unfortunately this means you need to get yourself to a trusted transmission repair facility very quick. the torque convertor on your vehicle is not operating the way it should. this is going to be an expensive repair, i tell you this so your not suprised. but do your homework and find someone with a great reputation for their work. dont take your saab to just anyone. these cars can get really screwed up without the right people workin on it. the transmission will need to come out.
