Question about 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee

1 Answer

Fuel gauge just quiet. on my 93 jeep grand cherokee.

My fuel gauge was fine until i filled up my gas tank. as soon i got back in the vehicle i looked at the gauge and it was down past empty and the gas light was on. i have checked all of the fuses inside the vehicle and under the hood they were all good@ it feels like the wiring is still plugged into the sending unit on the top of the fuel tank

Why is jeep fuel gauge is faulty

Most likely with a vehicle of that age, the float assembly (fuel level sensor) in the gas tank has failed or has become disconnected (possibly lost ground connection). It is also possible that the gauge itself has failed.

How to change a fuel pump on a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee

the fuel pump is in the tank u will need to drop the tank out from under the vehicle and then you can gain access to the pump, you will need to remove the lock ring from the pump module and then you can remove the pump from the tank and replace it with a new one

I have a 1996 Grand Cherokee Jeep Truck I just purchased and the gas gauge is not working it's on empty even when fill it up!

Check the Fuel Sending Unit in the fuel pump. Disconnect the wire to the sending unit, at the tank, and ground it to the car frame. Turn the key to on and see if the fuel gauge goes to Full. If it does the gauge and wire are good and the problem is in the sending unit. If it's still on E the gauge is bad or the wire is open.

It sounds like the torque converter is locked up. Possible a bad torque converter or converter solenoid. First thing you should try is unplugging the solenoid plug on the transmission. Drivers side, near the shifter. Not the three pin connector near the pan on the same side. The connector you want is higher than the reverse light plug.

Fuel gauge

you either have a bad sending unit, which iit is in the fuel pump assembly in the tank or a hole in the float and it fills with gas and sinks, which it's also on the fuel pump assembly in the tank or a bad fuel gauge in the instrument cluster. it's more than likely a sending unit problem, jeeps are bad about the sending unit to quit working
