Check ther coolant level, if this is ok, its possible the sensor on the coolant resevoir faulty. the other warning light sounds like the brake pad warning light. is the warning yellow?

Ok, the warning light with the broken semi circles is the brake pad warning light, so you need to check the front brake pads for wear, With reference to the temperature gauge flashes, check the coolant level

Temperature gauge keeps fluctuating whats the cause

Fiats have a reputation for electrical/electronic problems as they age and even when they are not very old they can manage strange things that even sometimes defeat the dealers, though the same can be said of many modern vehicles. I used to look after a Ducato motorhome and fortunately didn't need to get involved with much electrical work - the only faults were caused by the coachbuilders rushing around and being careless and not by Fiat.

I am not sure if the temp gauge is driven by the engine management or is a traditional circuit but either way the temperature gauge is in effect a voltmeter of sorts. Assuming the gauge is ok, the reading will only fluctuate if the voltage in the circuit fluctuates and that could mean the supply voltage is fluctuating or the resistance of the ground path is fluctuating.

With the traditional circuit the gauge is supplied by an electronically stabilised voltage and the ground path resistance is varied by the engine coolant temperature sensor and fluctuations could be anything from a faulty instrument voltage regulator, through faulty wiring or connections to the temperature actually fluctuating.

If the gauge is driven by the engine management the same approximately applies but checking the circuit becomes much more complex due to the need for circuit diagrams and specialised test equipment, though these would not be needed just to check the security of the gauge in the printed circuit of the instrument panel.

What is wrong the temp does not get hot going down rasd

I would buy a new thermostat and flush the radiator coolant. Dexcool (The orange coolant) is known to clog up the internals including the temperature sensor in cars of your age.

While you are at it, I would strongly consider changing radiator hoses and clamps unless that was done recently.

If you are referring to the dashboard temperature gauge not moving...It means that your temperature sending unit may be faulty (or it's not plugged in). Dexcool is known to clog up the internals including the temperature sensor in cars of your age. Inspect the connector to the temp gauge for damage and replace the temp gauge.
A replacement temp sensor is about $15 at any auto parts store.

Good luck

Why are all gauges on dash not working.only fuel guage

Usually when these Gauges go out it is because of a faulty BCM( Body Control Module) The BCM controls all dash instruments . If it is the BCM you will have to get a dealership to flash the new one. Before doing that though check all fuses under hood and inside. It should say gauges or BCM

Iv got vauxhall zafria model 2004 outside temperature symbol is not coming on dashboard is that a big problem should take it straight to gargage

No outside temperature just shows the temperature outside the car the snowflake symbol will not show up until it is cold enough outside it has 2 stages yellow is an initial warning of cold temperatures when it gets to freezing the symbol will turn red.
The outside temp warning is not connected to anything mechanical only the engine temerature gauge is so dont worry it will not affect the running of the car but is just there as a warning of falling temperatures outside.

VW Bora heating problem

I would guess its the thermostat stuck in the closed position, So the water cant circulate, and because of it its heating up around the engine and not going to the radiator, check it by feeling the top of the radiator, the top should be hot and the bottom should be cold

The radiator fan is not coming on when warm, but I still have heat and not over-heating?

Your heater blower, inside the car works to provide heat to the interior of your car, and the air is hot, right? If the cooling fan is not coming on, depending on the outside ambient temperature, you may be using your heater coil for the heater to dispell suficient heat (inside the car), combined with a low outside temperature to keep the engine at normal operating temperature negating the need for the cooling fan. OR your coolant temperature sensor is bad, and the ECU doesn't know that the engine is hot and to turn on the fan. This sensor works by changing the voltage returned to the ECU depending on the temperature of the tip, which changes the resistance to the computers inquiry. So, the computer knows the temp of the coolant. It uses this information to adjust mixture gauge etc. Most now have 2. One for the gauge, and another for the ECU. So don't go by the gauge working. Then there is the fan motor itself. This can be tested by using a testlight on the wires when the engine temperature gauge in at 3/4 to the hot side of the gauge. The other way to test is to bring a live wire to the motor. If the motor is good, the sensor is bad, if the motor is bad, well the motors bad. I hope this helps you, write back if you need additional assistance. . Please take the time to rate our free service, and my performance. Thank you for trying FixYa.com!

Cold starts ok warms up shakes and stalls

check engine coolant temperature when it gets warmer, or at operating temperature, and verify that the temperature gauge is showing warmed up to operating temperature. If the coolant temperature sensor tells the computer the engine is cold it will over fuel and miss and the engine will die. When cooled down it will run fine until it warms up. Also could be coil if it starts missing after warmed up.

Over heating, and no AC

Cooling Fan Malfunction. Your radiator fans are most likely not working. That's why the temperature is OK when you're driving full speed and the wind is cooling your radiator. You need to check and/or replace your cooling switch module and radiator fans (most likely it's the cooling module). If you were sitting idle or in stop-n-go traffic for an extended period of time, your car WOULD overheat because the fans aren't kicking in cooling your radiator - then you would see all of the cooling system water spill out of the coolant reservoir, before this would happen your temperature gauge would go to the red and the digital dislpay would flash a thermometer (indicating you're about to overheat in 2 mintues). I hope this helps someone out there - Yes, it happened to me in the middle of nowhere.
