The only way to get a accuate o ring is to remove hose and take it to a parts house and get the correct o-ring jus becare when you remove the hose to catch the fluid in pump also have you checked the lins to be sure they are tight also check your hose and be sure it hasn't rubbed against something and got a hole normally the o-ring do not give any problem unless they have been off and exposed to been torn

The belt in my 01 Dodge Dakota squeals badly. Started when I had my power steering pump replaced. I tried changing the belt and the tensioner, but still squeals. Is it possible the pulley on the power...

excess mechanical drag from the pump can cause the belt to slip and squeal, but before focusing on the pump I'd check the condition, tension and alignment of the belt. I might even try cleaning all the pulleys with an aerosol brake cleaner and install a new belt, particularly if the current one has more than 50,000 miles on it. It might be that the squeal is coming from or caused by a different belt-driven accessory.
A more typical noise from a power-steering pump is a high-pitched whine, not a squeal. Usually, if the steering wheel is stationary, meaning that the steering rack is not "asking" for assistance from the high-pressure fluid from the pump, there's little or no noise

Power steering pressure line leaking how do I get it off

FIRST YOU DRAIN POWER STEERING PUMP USING A SIPHON. PLACE DRAIN PAN UNDER VECHICLE WHERE POWER STEERING PUMP LOCATION WOULD BE.THE DRAIN PAN WILL CATCH FLUID AS YOU REMOVE POWER STEERING LINE.YOU NEED FLARE IN LINE WRENCHES AND A NEW POWER STEERING PRESSURE LINE AND NEW O - RINGS. IF NEW PRESSURE LINE DONT HAVE NEW O- RING THE DEALERSHIP WILL HAVE IT.

I have a 2004 dakota. how do I determine if my fuel pump is bad? it turns over and over but won't start. are they difficult to change?

Not bad as long as the fuel level is low, you will need to drop the fuel tank and remove the sending unit, the pump is part of the sending unit,to remove the unit remove the top lock ring, this is a plastic ring on top of the tank that hold the unit , hope this helps,6a943a8.gif

How do you change power steering pump on a 2004 Dodge Dakota

If the pressure hose has a hole in it you will never stop the leak because the fluid can reach 2500 psi. You will have to replace the hose. If the leak is at a fitting you can most likely replace the "o"-ring or washer . Hope this helps.

Power Steering pump pulley

You'll need a power steering pump puller available at most part stores. They are very easy to use and it should have directions in the package on proper use. Just think if you can do yours, you can do most of the domestics pumps out there.
