Question about 2000 Mazda 626

1 Answer

Engine roaring... I've been driving the car all week(in the cold) and it was fine. Today I got ready to arrive at my destination and the car sounded very loud when I pressed on the gas like a race car would. Is it the muffler? engine? God forbid the transmission :-( I had a little problem with the fan module a while back but hopefully that has nothing to do with it. Plan to take it to the Mazda dealership but wanted any advice to what it could be to explain to the repair guy effectively. Thanks

Hello, Sounds like you had the muffler or tail pipe go out, either rusted or blown out by a backfire caused by the catylitic converter. Good Luck, RAC

In park with engine running everything sounds fine and smooth as can be. all fluid levels are good. when i put it in gear it sounds and feels fine. when i start rolling i hear a roar. it doesn't drive...

You might have the front wheel bearings checked out. First drive it on some curves and bear left and then bear right see which way quiets it down. That really only works if it is in the front, however the rear ones do go bad as well, however it is usually the front ones that go with a roar. Hope this helps

I have a 2001 Dodge stratus RT and whenever it starts it makes this loud roaring sound and almost sounds like its popping in the engine. It lasts about 30 seconds. Well today it continued even as I was...

My professional advice is that you need to:
1. check the engine Oil
2. Tow,... not drive the car to the shop.

You may have lost engine oil pressure, this will lead to engine failure. If your car has been making this sound for a while you may have already damaged the engine. This is the best i can tell with the information provided.

Do we have to have water in the oven at all times? If so how do we cook cakes?

I once read an article about someone cooking their meal on their car's engine. They would wrap it up in aluminum foil, cruise to their destination while the food cooked on the exhaust manifold. When they arrived, their meal was ready. Was that by any chance you?
