Where is the transmission dipstick located in a 2005 VW Jetta

There is no dip stick on this car, most of the newer Volkswagen did not come with one, the way to check the level is car will need to be on a car lift and level, engine at operating temp. then run through the gears and back to park, apply parking brake and raise car, on the transmission pan there will be a plug, remove the plug and if fluid drips out it is full if not then you must add, note ; make sure to use correct fluid.i would get fluid from dealer!.

I will enclose a picture of the transmission pan to show you how it works, there is a tube in the pan, when you remove the plug on the bottom of the pan it has a tube that sticks up and fluid flows all around it , the top of the tube is the correct level, so any fluid higher than tube will flow out. you want a small slow stream or dribble to come out. if no fluid flows out then you will add, to add i have enclosed a picture of the fill location, remove the cap and add slowly until it starts to flow out the bottom, do not put plug in until flow is slow or dripping, if you add a quart then run through gears again, and add more if needed,

You can try to do this on the ground, just make sure car is level and warmed up and you run through all gears, so to recap, warm engine and then go from park and go through all gears with shifter then back to park and leave engine running with e brake on and remove plug and add as needed until slow stream then install plug on pan and cap on the filler. hope this is helpful good day.5_18_2012_4_24_04_pm.png5_18_2012_4_24_12_pm.png

My check engine light came on along with the "AT" on my 2005 Mazda 6s automatic. Then the transmission was stuck in 3rd gear. I can only put it into park and reverse. Once i shift to drive, it...

suggest that you check your transmission fluid post haste please. you may only need to add transmission fluid to your car. also,if you have to add the fluid, where did your fluid leak? check for leaks under your car when parked. you may need transmission fluid and filter change, suggest that you do this with new filter and add lucas transmission treatment to the fluid change also. you'll need to purchase this yourself, unless you have a mechanic in the family that can do it for you.if not i suggest you find a mechanic you trust, then tell him,or,her to add this to your tranny fluid change. also suggest while the mechanics there at the transmission to check the modulator valve on the transmission, and the vacum line that operates it. just a hint. thanks for choosing fixya.com

Where is the transmission fill plug on a 2000 Odyysey?

Transmission fluid is added through the same location where you check the fluid level, just remove the dipstick, using a funnel and add the fluid, the proper way to check the level is once the vehicle reach operating temp, and with the vehicle running check the fluid at that time.

TRANSMISSION FILL
To avoid overfilling transmission after a fluid change or overhaul, perform the following procedure:
  1. Verify that the vehicle is parked on a level surface.
  2. Remove the dipstick tube cap.
  3. Add following initial quantity of Mopar ATF +4, Automatic Transmission Fluid, to the transmission:
    1. If only fluid and filter were changed, add 5.0 L (10.6 pts.) of transmission fluid to transmission.
    2. If the transmission was completely overhauled or the torque converter was replaced or drained, add 7.7 L (16.3 pts.) of transmission fluid to transmission.
  1. Check the transmission fluid and adjust as required

Where is the filler cap for the transmission on a suzuki vitara v6 automatic ?

You add A/T transmission fluid at the same place you check it.
Same place you check the A/T fluid level. You add fluid at the same location.

Transmission will not engage 2003 Hundai Accent automatic

Tatter Todd quickly came to the rescue. I followed his guidance of shifting through all gears, circulating and spreading the tranny fluid, being patient, and it worked. I ended up having to add more fluid which fixed the problem.

Thanks!
