That appears to be a camshaft position sensor performance code. you can start by checking to see if the sensor is working properly, re-check and make sure that the harness is ok by checking the resistance through the harness if all looks well there make sure the computer has the latest software on it by having it scanned at your local dealer. also you can check the reluctor wheel on the camshaft for damage or debris in the way of the sensor.

hope this helps!

Your problem was (most likely) the mass air-flow sensor. Try disconnecting the sensor, the car should run at default values. This will turn on your check engine light on again but it will indicate that the sensor should be replaced. You can clear the light with a scanner or disconnect the battery again.

2002 mercedes e 320 ,with 114,000 miles ,should timing chain/belt be replaced

That V-6 has a timing chain. There should be no reason to replace it at that mileage, assuming normal maintenance and no extenuating circumstances. These don't have problems like the old V-8s that would break the upper timing chain guides.I like these engines. We do replace a lot of the ignition coils and chase around electrical problems on a regular basis.

Engine wiring harness been replaced? Upper and Lower? There is a known issue with MB and 90's wiring insulation being biodegradable. US forced them to do it, problem is engine heat causes it to crumble by slow cooking. I would also replace your coil/coils as they are known hardly to ever be changed out.

1994 mercedes e320 fuel relay

Fuel relays dont normally go bad fuel pumps and filters on the other hand do. Also check engine wiring harnesses for degradation as from 1993-1995 MB was forced to use biodegradable insulation on there wiring which fails due to the engine bay cooking it.

Turning off brake pad warning light after changing pads on S320 merc.

If the light came on before you changed pads, you will need to replace the sensor.
The sensor consists of only a wire link embedded in a hard plastic. This is worn through when the pads are nearly worn out.

To check which sensor it is, it's easier to unplug the sensor, and check with a continuity checker. If there is no continuity, you need to replace it.

Thanks for using Fixya! If this solves the problem, please rate as such. Thank you.
