Check the power supply going into the fuel pump relay. If it is still hot when the ignition is off then your ignition switch is probably the problem.

One more thing. There should be two more relays next to th efuel pump relay. They are all the same part number. Roll one of those into the place of the fuel pump relay and try it before you buy another. I think you will find the problem resolved. Thanks.

Turn the ignition switch to run, without starting it. You should hear the electric fuel pump, in the gas tank, run for about 3 to 4 seconds, until it builds to proper pressure. If it is not humming along it needs replaced.

Dule gas tank ford truck 1986 4X4 location of fule filters I found one

The main filter is ahead of the high pressure fuel pump on the frame rail, and has 2 small plastic clip holding the fuel lines on. The other is behind the high pressure pump, in the resviour, and looks like a cup. If yours has two filters,(some don't) that where it is. The cup screws off. If you find o-rings in the bottom of the cup, you have to replace the whole unit (if you choose to remove it) Good Luck to you!

1990 F150 Fuel pump just replaced but wont turn on

Replace the fuel pump relay. And if your truck has dual tanks there's three fuel pumps, one in each tank and another secondary fuel pump.

My 1990 ford f150 will not start because no gas is getting to the engine i replaced the fuses but it still wont get gas i dont here the fule pump when the key is terned on how do i fix this problem.

locate the fuel pump and see if you can hook a 12 volt source (car battery) directly to it if the pump turns on you know that the pump is not getting power if it does not turn on you know you need a new fuel pump
good luck

My 1990 F150 will not start sometimes. If I turn the switch to the on position and the fuel pump continues to run after 5 Sec , It will not start. If the pump stop running after 5 Sec , it will start.

when u turn the key to run but don't start the fuel pump shuts off after 5 seconds + or - 2 seconds, this is normal, the common cause of no start on your truck is the TFI ignition module on the distributor, subject of many recalls for failing, also change the stator inside the distributor, use factory parts, aftermarket parts fail very quickly. here is a picture of the parts.

This is the TFI ignition module.

1992 ford f150 Truck shut down at 60mph and now fuel pumps wont

Where does the fuel come from that leaks out when running? If you have dual fuel tanks and one tank is overflowing you will need to check the fuel tank switch in the dash. Ford had a problem with these that caused the fuel pump from one tank to pump fuel to the other tank and cause it to overflow. If this is the case the tank switch is probably defective.
They can get very hot and melt the wires into the back of the switch. Check the switch first.

Ford f150 fule pump

I think you called it a fuel shut off switch. It is under the dash on the passenger side. Your initial post said the button was not up but I have seen them go bad and not pass voltage even in  the down position.
