Question about 1987 Chevrolet S-10 Pickup
My s-10 pickup quit and is not getting fuel i replaceed the fuel pump and still no fuel is there something electrical i should look at and how can i test the pump it is a 1987 4x4 2.8 s-10 pickup
Look under hood some ware around left fender well there should be a red wire with a plug on it that looks like it should be pluged to something but its not, that wire goes directly to fuel pump, run a hot lead to that and see if pump runs. Also chk. grounds and hot leads and all fuses and the relay. If you can't find the wire, and your sure fuses and relay and connections are functioning, you may have to run your own hot wire to pump to see if it will run. Be aware its possible to have gotten a defective pump.

Check the fuse to the ECM if it is good listen when you turn the key onj for the relay to click..from there check your Oil sending unit as the pump will not work with out the oil pressure up to about 4 lbs.. created while you crank the engine...
