Question about 2000 Hyundai Elantra
2000 Hyundai Elantra GLS
Clutch Slipping in 4th and 5th gear!
Also Clutch Pedal Vibrates when slightly depressed!
Is the clutch adjustable on this model and if so how do I do it?
Unfortunately you have a hydraulic clutch, which is self adjusting on your car.
The problem you are experiencing is the excessive wear to your clutch, or oil contamination on the clutch plate.
Both these problems can only be fully diagnosed once the gearbox is removed and the clutch is inspected.
There is also a possibility of excessive wear, or scoring, on the flywheel surface, the longer you drive the vehicle with a slipping clutch, possibly requiring the flywheel to be skimmed.
Shop around for a best price, and a trustworthy garage !
Good Luck !
A FixYa rating would be Nice....Thanks.....John.

I had a problem with premature clutch wear on my 2000 Hyundai Elantra GLS. I continued to have a problem with Clutch Slipping in 4th and 5th gear even after the clutch and slave cylinder were replaced. The shop tried adjustment and modifying the slave cylinder. Nothing worked until the master cylinder was replaced.
