There will be a dipstick at the back of the motor, should be on the left side near the brake system. The car should be warm and placed in drive with e brake engaged. Pull dipstick out and look for the warm mark. The fluid should be at that level.

FYI- do not stand in front of the car when doing this while the car is engaged in drive. Just incase you are wondering why have the car in drive. Well its a more accurate reading because the fluid is circulating.

And fluid level should be changed at about 50000 to 100000 miles depends how you drive. Transmission fluid is just like oil it will get thin if it never overheats, or it can get really thick and varnish if it has over heated. Neather is good.

IT IS THE SAME PROCEDURE AS WE CHECK ENGINE OIL BY PULLING OUT A WIRE FROM THE ENGINE. YOU CAN FIND THE TRANSMISSION FLUID WIRE NEAR TO YOUR ENGINE.

NOTE- NORMALLY THE TRANMISSION FLUID DOSE NOT NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE FLUID LEVEL REMIAN THE SAME UNTIL THE FUILD LEAKS.

ACTING LIKE GEAR CHANGING DOSE NOT MEAN THAT YOUR TRANSMISSION FLUID IS LOW. IF THE FUEL PUMP IF NOT WORKING PROPERLY IT ALSO REASONS FOR THE SAME PROBLEM.

HOPE THIS WILL HELP U.

NICE DAY.

Acts like the transmissions slipping AFTER it gets warm, when its cool it shifts great?

Check you have enough transmission fluid, does it surge when changing up when warm? When checking fluid level run gear shift through gears 3 times to circulate fluid place in park then check level do this with engine running and parking/handbrake on. If you don't run shift through gears before checking level dipstick will give false reading.....usually saying you have enough but when fluid has to circulate there won't be and hence trouble with gear change when hot.

Today my 06 Chevy Trailblazer will go through the first couple gears fine. Around 30 mph it won't shift. It just acts like it just went into neutral. Engine revs and no power. Once it slows down and...

Sounds like clutch issue, if the car was that low on transmission fluid, obviously there is big leak somewhere, and depending on how long it was driven, one of the gears may have stripped or broke.

Might be a good idea to have a transmission shop or Chevy Dealer look at it.

Other possibility newer cars use a electronic control to tell the transmissions to shift, could be a possible issue there, but doesn't explain the transmission fluid issue.

Slipping out of gear

check fluid levels add if low..retry the car and see also if the fluid is brown and dirty when you check it..change the fluid and filter in the trans mission and it should work ok also look at any vacuum lines that run down to the transmission see if they are good..

Could be the shifter cable. Try taking it to a mechanic. This is a very hard repair without being at a shop. Should not be to expensive though. Thanks for asking!
