Question about 2007 Chevrolet Uplander LS Minivan
There are times were it will unlock but if you shut the door or put it in drive it will lock again and stay locked.
How are you trying to unlock it? with the keyfob, button inside the car? in any case this can be a little hard to diagnose but i'll try my best. if the door tries to unlock but doesn't unlock a lot of the time it may be a weak door lock actuator, if the door just doesn't respond to unlock commands it may be a module or a short in the wiring. the locking when put in drive is a normal characteristic of the car. being that this vehicle uses modules for everything it would be a good idea to have it checked out at a dealer with the proper scan tools and calibrating equipment. other than that the only other thing i can think of is the mechanical linkage inside the door binding up, not allowing the door to unlock when commanded. if you can get the panel off you might be able to check the rods and linkages yourself to see if there is a binding issue and also to check if the actuator is responding to commands. without seeing the car in person to witness the issue your describing its hard to give you an exact fix for this problem but i hope i helped!
