Question about 1996 Chrysler LHS
The warning lights come on in the message center when the car is first driven. However after the car is switched off then started again the lights go off but after the car is switched off for a few hours the problem returns.
Start the car for the first time, make sure the lights are doing it. Then push on the emergency brake a few times making sure it comes up all the way (if not help it out by hand). See if the lights stop. The ABS/Tracktion control is shut off when the E-brake is applied in Fords. I don't know if this is true in Chrysler's but is worth a check. If this has any effect on the lights then it's the pedal not coming all the way up or the switch in the E-brake mech coming loose or malfunctioning.
