Question about 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier
How do you remove the headlight assemble to change the bulb. I removed the two bolts holding it in but there seems to be another attachment that is not visible and still hold the assembly in place?
To change the bulbs in the headlights,(on a 2002 Z24) you need to remove the plastic splash cover the extends the width of the car over the headlights by removing the plastics pins that hold it in . Pull up on the center of the pins to remove them. Once the cover is off, remove the two bolts that hold the headlight in, then place a screwdriver into the slot for the parking light lens to pop the clip loose that holds the lens in place. The headlight assembly can then be removed, once the wire harness is unplugged from the bulb. There is a round retainer that locks the bulb into place. Rotate the retainer counter clockwise and remove the bulb. Don't touch the bulb surface as oil from a person's hands can cause premature failure. Just reverse these dirctions to reinstall the rest of the parts. This may sound difficult, but it really isn't. I hope this helps out some fellow z owners.

Open the hood of the ES300 and prop it open.
Look at the headlight assembly from the top down. Depending on your model year, there may be a plastic panel covering the top of the headlight assembly. If this is present, remove it by lifting all of the plastic clips around the edges and lifting it off.
Locate the three bolts that hold the headlight assembly in place. Two of the bolts are in the left and right rear corners of the assembly, and the third is on the side bordering the outside edge of the car, screwed into the back of the fender panel. Remove all of these bolts with a small adjustable wrench. Though they appear to be designed to be removed with a screwdriver, the way they're arranged makes it almost impossible to remove them with one.
Slide the entire headlight assembly forward a few inches so that you can reach the back of it.
Unscrew the plastic bulb socket assembly. This is the large, round component located right in the middle of the back of the main assembly. Turn it about a quarter turn to the left and you can pull it away from the main assembly. If you're replacing both the bulb and the main assembly, see the next section on how to replace the bulb, then resume this process

Insert the new bulb. Be sure to wear disposable gloves when touching the new bulb oil from skin will cause bulb to burn out sooner. hold it by its base.
Test the headlight. Turn the headlights on to ensure proper installation.
Push the socket back into the headlight assembly. Be sure to align the retaining tabs in the socket with the slots on the headlight assembly during insertion. Turn the socket clockwise to secure it.
