Question about 1984 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
The alternator tested good, but the car won't stay running when you take off the battery cable. Any suggestions?
Is the alternator wiring ok? there are two connections to the alternator the one is a bolt with a wire that wire should go to the pos terminal on the battery. the other is a 2 wire plug that should have power that is switched with the key. One other possibility could be a bad body/ engine ground so check them as well. (off of the battery on the neg side there should be a wire that attaches to the inner fender and there should be a big wire that goes to the engine )
Hope this helps!
