Question about 2000 Oldsmobile Bravada
On a 2000 Olds Bravada the key won't turn off all the way and the key won't come out is the ignition cylinder tumblers bad orwould it be the switch and is it easy to change either one by yourself?
What i do is sit and wait for the key to let go, or drive back and forth to straighten up my front weels. sometimes this works other times it does not. but i dont have the extra 300.00 that the gargage quoted me for the kit.

You need to replace the whole ignition switch assembly, the swtch may be secured with what you call shear bolts which may have to be drilled out, only you can decide if you are capable of doin this, new bolts should be supplied with the new swith, when you retighten the bolts, the heads will shear off when they are tight enough, the aim of these are to prevent theives making a quick ignition change to steal your car
