Check engine light is on-starter hangs

2007 tahoe has 40,000 miles and has had no other problems. check engine light is on. When I try to start the engine the starter continues to turn but the engine does not crank even after I let go of the key. It then stops and I turn the key again and it cranks with no problem.

It does sound like the starter is failing.... the next time it won't turn over.... have someone smack the starter with a hammer...while you attempt to start it... not hard enough to break it tho.

2007 Tahoe LTZ check engine light and stabilitrack light went on and lost acceleration. Pulled over, shut off the engine for 5 mins then restarted, then a horrific engine click/clank when I rev the engine...

The engine noise is not related to the stabilitrack. Stabilitrack is usually caused by a bad wheel sensor. Get the trouble codes read to find out exactly what's going on. Which engine do you have?

I have a 2003 chevy tahoe with about 150,000 miles. The engine light has been on for couple of months now, but I have had no problem. This morning, it won't start. The lights and radio comces on.

Have you ever replaced the starter? If not you should have it tested, GM's have common starter problems and your vehicle is in the age bracket for starter to go bad.The easy fix is to have someone turn the key like they were going to start it while you get underneath the truck and hit the starter with a hammer a few times while they are trying to start the vehicle. If the vehicle starts then you know you have a starter problem, if not, back to the drawing board.

Check engine light on 40,000 miles nissan pathfinder 2006

You must scan the Engine Control Module and collect fault codes before it can be determined why your engine controller turned the light on.

'07 Tahoe; check engine light on steady. Just came

Have a dealer or garage check your Oxygen (O2) sensor. As a quick fix, try disconnecting and reconnecting your car battery. Sometimes this will reset the check engine light.Good Luck!

Check engine light, geting screwed by dealer i think

replacing a thermostat cost about 20 bucks or less done yourself and as far as the oil leak check for loose valv cover bolts and manifold bolts. Dealerships are crooks they will sabotage a vehicle in a heart beat. Try this first.
