I have checked bulbs, fuse, and foot pedal switch and they are all fine but still no brake lights on '96 Yukon. I have also looked at connections
on rear trailer t-connectors and there is no corosion. Any suggestions?
The brake fuse #1 is located inside the truck below the steering column. I am assuming you have verified there is 12v power at the fuse & thru the brake lamp switch (orange wire power in & white wire power out, when pedal depressed) at all times. After the brake lamp switch , power goes (white wire) to the Turn signal/hazard lamp switch & out (dark green wire-rt brake lamp & yellow left brake lamp)

You have power at the fuse. The brake light switch has two wires on it, one is the supply from the fuse the other is to the lights, Check for volts at the switch (yes), bridge the two wires then follow the wiring checking for a live. Start at a light and work your way back up the loom checking all connecting sockets, has the vehicle a trailer socket, check the multi-plug where it picks up the wiring.
If your fuses and bulbs are all good, then look above your brake pedal and you will see your brake switch up along your brake pedal arm. It will either be
between the brake arm and the firewall so when you brake it pushes the
switch in. Or it will be between the dash and the brake arm so when you
brake it pulls the switch out. Most likely this switch needs to be replaced
Remove bulb, make sure it sits tight in the socket. make sure socket is not burnt up (brown or black in color) Check bulb, if the filament inside is loose or discolored, replace as nesessary. Check brake light switch under driver side dash above brake pedal. make sure it is adjusted correctly.
pretty common issue with the Tahoe/Yukon is the bulb holder...mine both went out at the same time as well...you can buy the bulb holder at any parts store, most have these on hand. They hold all 3 bulbs (lights, brakes/turn signal) and are a simple replace...most likely will fix your problem!
