Remove door panel by prying out at the bottom. Follow around door and remove the panel retainering tabs. Push up on panel to remove from top of door. Now snap the window lock button assembly back in place.
sounds like window has come out of runner but motor works to get window back up you will have to grab hold of glass each side and pull up to top of door ,then use motor switch in up operation to the stop and that will hold window but if you put switch opposite way window will fall again .
glass fell down in door bolt to equalizer arm to regulator fell out of place missing or window regulator broken.you have to remove door trim panel. you need a haynes repair manual to show you how to remove door trim panel. and door panel screws location to door handle.you need see screws location to remove power windows and door lock control.you will need door panel trim removal tool.
sometimes the window can be popped back into position by pulling it back into the runner ) otherwise the door panel screws to the handle and door handle casing and screw to the mirror be removed as well as for the armrest the lock will also come off with a push and a twist it merely hooks into the back side of it but it comes off and goes back on quite easily and remove by pulling directly out from the bottom the plastic ( white) screw like fasteners hold it into place then just lift up on it then your there remove the panel plastic and inspect as needed for repairs ....hope this helps you
You can get away with just lubricating the window runners with silicon or graphite. Don't use oil base lubricant, oil breaks down rubber like the ones use on the window runners. I use silicon and with the spray tube from the can, spray it along the window runners on both side. Towards the front and back of the door, Roll down the window and where the glass runs down in to the door is the runners i am talking about and you should be able to spray along there with the tube and just clean the glass from any over spray. Good luck and this should help.
The same thing happened to my 2006 Aveo. Once you do the above find the lock and the screw that holds it in (they will both be in the bottom of the door). Put the lock back in place, put blue Loctite on the screw and screw it back in place and this problem will not repeat itself.
All its done its just come off its tracks so remove the door insert carefully place the window back on the track and tighten it up using basic tools and no the door insert/panel can come off even if the window is all the way up. Hope this helps.
