It is straight down from the alternator, It is a smooth wheel with a15mm bolt in it. This is a spring loaded wheel to loosen belt you need to put 15mm wrench on it and push it toward front of car, sometimes interlocking a second wrench on the 15mm will give you better leverage

Altanator

There's is a tensioner with a pulley wheel attached, it will not look like a pump, the pulley wheel should spin freely, it's just a spring loaded arm that provides tension for the belt, when you find it there should be a spot at the end of the arm where the pulley wheel is that a tool will fit into.

Air condition noise

Either the belt tensioner is going bad or the compressor or clutch is going bad. Is the belt tight? Check the deflection in the belt if it is to loose replace the tensioner. Also double check the belt part number and make sure they sold you the correct length belt.
