Question about 2000 Renault 181
Was driving at 60mp suddenly lost power and stoped dead over heated water and oil over engine been tod either head gaskit or water pump or maybe need new engine please ideas?
If it is head gasket you realise because the car consumes water, often you have white smoke from gasket, and you also have less compression and performance.
Check first that the cooling fan is starting , that is the most common cause for overheating on Clio.
Check the two fuses for the fan, there is one in the fuse box under the dash and another one on the fuse box on the engine side, under the hood.
The water pump is also possible, often when it is broken it makes noise, and the light comes as soon as the engin gets hot.
