Speedometer is stuck all the way around to zero and won't move

Speedometer won't show speed as it is all the around to zero and the peg on the dash won't let it go up to show speed. Is there a relay or fuse for the daytime running lights? Also I am having problems with the drivers window as I power it down and then sometimes it won't go back up.

Sounds like you may have several problems here, there is usually a transducer on the gearbox, this may be faulty, there is always fuses for most electrical items such as lights, the window motor may have a faulty motor or it could be the switch, try swapping switchs from a good window

I had the same problem with the speedo. I disconnected the power, and took out the speedo head. Reset the speedo needle all the way around to 0 MPH. Then replaced it, and hooked the battery cable back up. Now it works great. Same problem with the window, my relay was bad.
Hope this helps :)

My speedometer doesnt work

Without key in ignition, depress and hold down the trip reset button by the speedometer until a code appears. Release button and the gauge cluster will go through a self diagnosis ( needles will move around and dash lights will blink). When needle returns to zero and lights go off, diagnosis will be completed and speedometer will be reset. Very easy fix.

Speedometer won't work at all.

If the speedometer and odometer are both dead, the problem is usually the speed sensor in the transmission.
If only the speedometer is dead, the speedometer and cluster may have to be repaired or replaced.

How to fix a speedometer cable

Well you know it does not have a speedo cable since you replaced the speed sensor in the transmission.
My guess would be a problem with the speedo or cluster.

Hi,
Likely one of your Speed Sensors (VSS) is bad. Sorry I don't know WHERE these are located, but get on some of the Chevy Truck forums for answers.

The speedometer is stuck below zero. How do I fix that on my own?

This is most likely a faulty speed sensor on the transmission but may be a faulty Dash board controller. This should be electronic. If there is no voltage on the wires going to the speedometer it is the Speed sensor or TCM.

2001 dodge caravan speedometer

it must have taken an over 12 volt hit,you will need to remove the dash assembly, the needle will move with gravity when not powered, have the dash assembly in your hands and facing you, then flip it over so the needle starts to fall then turn the dash to keep the needle going to zero.then reinstall.
Or if you plan on keeping this van for ever,
you can drill a small hole in plastic cover of dash and insert a small wire to guide the pin back to zero.

Speedometer is stuck under zero

Pull the rubber trip reset pin out slowly so all you see is the hole & the shaft. Take a long tin-tie (about 5 inch) & fish it inside the speedo to the needle & carefully bring it back counterclockwise when its back at least to "2-3 O'clock" hold it & turn your switch to coil...the needle will go back to zero. keep the tin-tie in your coin box if ever it happens again!
