On the 2001 models:
1.8 - 125bhp
1.8t - 150bhp
1.8t - 180bhp

the only difference in the two turbo models is the ecu setup

It makes a big difference in acceleration. When the turbo spools up you will feel it in the seat of your pants. The turbo force feeds the engine air. More air means the engine can burn more fuel and more fuel means more POWER!!

    I don't show a 1.8T AWT in a 2002 A6. The 2002 base A6 shows a 3.0L AVK and the A6Quattro shows either a 2.7L Turbo APB, 3.0L AVK or a 4.2L AWN.
What are we comparing the 1.8 turbo to and I can get the fihures you want.

I've got an Audi s3 2002 model I would like to know how to make my car faster and to get more performance what are a few things that I can do options wise thank you

the only real thing you can do is get a throttle body spacer. it allows for more airflow. Other than that if you want a faster car buy a different car. Your Audi is designed with very strict tolerances and changing something means that you have to change a lot of things to not get engine failures this includes mufflers and exhaust components. your car is designed to work off the back pressure created by the exhaust changing this will result in hard starts poor emissions and fuel economy. A full high performance exhaust system on a high performance car will gain you 3-5 HP that is it. Adding a turbo requires an entire engine rebuild, the pistons connecting rods crank valves are not designed to handle the added pressure and will fail one at a time. So if ou want a faster car buy a different car.

I am interested in replacing my catalytic converters on my Audi A4 1996. I have seen a couple of CC's on the internet and wondered why they are so different in price.

There are many different manufacturers for audi, also make sure you are looking at the correct ones for your engine, either a 2.8 or 1.8T. That is another big difference for the turbo model it comes right off of the turbo.

Hello.I got my Volvo s40 2002.Its suppost to have a turbo build-in.But I cannot feel the difference, basically when is turbo starts working? Thanks!

The S 40 came with different size and spec engines and they were not all Turbo charged versions. The choice of engines available depends on which country you are in.

The turbocharger is driven by the engine's exhaust system and runs continuously but has minimal affect at low engine RPM. Unless the turbo has failed, you should feel the turbo effect kick in when you accelerate hard but there will be a brief lag .

If you have the turbo engine fitted to your 2002 model S40 you will have a " 1.9T " badge on the rear of your car under the S40 badge. The "T" designates Turbo. An engine designator badge without a "T" indicates it is not turbocharged.

The turbochargers on these S40 models will fail (especially if the car has done a lot of miles) so you should have your car examined if you feel the turbo is not functioning.

Is it advisable to put an intercooler to a turbo 4D56 engine? i want to know the effects, in terms of engine performance.

an intercooler will cool the air that the turbo has compressed(when you compress air it gets hot)you will notice the difference......but hard to give actual increase in bhp.your acceleration times will drop as well.

I have a volvo v70 d5, an my intercooler has a slight leak. could this affect my performance, as i accelerate hard, engine service urgent light comes up on dash. i have changed my air mass sensor, it made...

Yes, your intercooler is a problem cos it cools down the turbo charger. The turbo is what gives you your extra power, and when it overheats, it loses pressure and thatcauses loss of power.

Car smoke white when idle and nothing when driving

Engine also smokes when car driving if turbocharger still faulty. Did you change the engine timing belt (the timing belt kit) meantime? What about engine oil consumption? When engine glow plugs (one or more) burnt then engine exhausts white smoke at idling. Also white smoke at engine idling when water is still present in diesel fuel.
