Question about 2005 Ford Explorer
Can you just put back in? Or do you have to change the whole mirror?
It depends on whats 'hanging', if JUST the mirror glass has come off it's plastic backing plate, then yes you can silicone it back into place. If the mirror glass AND the plastic backing plate are hanging, you can try to 'snap' the backing plate back into the mirror head but most likely something inside is broken and the mirror head will have to be replaced. for a better idea on reinstalling or replacing a mirror see: www.burcinc.com and for aftermarket replacement mirror heads see: www.directauto.com
hope this helps.
