If you indeed just bought it from a used car dealer, if that is a reputable dealer he will fix it .. I would venture that you blew a head gasket or worse .. Either way it is some serious engine work.

I took it back to the dealership that I bought it from and they told me that the radiator had a crack in it and it over heated causing the fluids to leak all over the engine and that is what blew the head gasket.... so i will be getting the radiator and the engine replaced ..... but thank you so much for your help

I have a 2001 Pontiac grandam. 2.4L 4 cylinder. It will not stay started. If you start it, it will start but while in park if you rev up the engine when it idles down it shuts off. Please help. All ideas...

I had a 01 grand prix GT, with very similar problem. I processed by way of eliminating the fuel pump, ignition module, catalytic convertor to determine it was 2 bad o2 sensors that didn't register on diagnostics. Hope this might be helpful, and good luck.

Go to your nearest auto store and ask if they have a OBD diagnostic scanner, this is a free item that most auto stores have for their customers. Auto Zone, Checkers or any chain of auto parts store. G luck

Whining sound from front passenger side.

Check the condition of front disc brake pads, if they are in need of replacement a preset little metal arm starts rubbing the discs and will make a whining noise. It doesn't do any damage but it's irritating to listen to.
