They are both the same sensor. Year make and model helps. But some are behind the harmonic balancer, some or mounted to the transmission. On some older models, they are in the block close to the transmission side.
The crank sensor is located behind the crank pulley on the 3.8 liter. The crank pulley must first be removed. A 15/16" socket, three very long 8 x 1.0 bolts (pretty sure that is the size, some large washers, and a crank pulley pulley will be required.
With the crank pulley removed mark the bracket where the old crank sensor is located so that the new sensor can be placed in exactly the same position. Failure to do this will result in the new sensor and/or the crank pulley being severely damaged.
Then it's as simple as removing the old sensors and installing the new one.
Good luck and let me know if you have any questions.
The 24X crank sensor is located behind the crank pulley on the front of the engine.
The 7X crank sensor is located about in the middle of the block on the backside of the motor. The side closest to the firewall.

On my 02 Excursion with the 7.3L Diesel, the Cam Position Sensor is located at the front bottom of the engine on the passengers side. There is one electrical pigtail plug that is attached and one bolt holds the sensor in position. It may be located in a similar location on your 05 Ex. I do not know where the crank sensor is located. I hope this helps.
Look around the bottom of cylinder block. Or near where the flywheel is to, because the crank angle sensor works from missing teeth or magnets on the flywheel or a cog/wheel fixed to the crankshaft.Hope this helps
