It's called a lifter. It is not serious. Keeping your car under good maintenance should keep the noise down but you will always hear it until you get the lifters replaced. Or that is what i was told. I have had my 1988 Fox for ten years now and it has always made that noise. Don't worry. :)
I had that problem, fuel pump relay, after driving 10 minutes or more .Check to see how hot your fuel pump relay is. It is located in your fuse block. Under dash left side. 2 large relays in centre, 2 small outer, it is the large one on the right. after driving touch it and if it burns the tip of your finger, mine did i replaced it and now it starts every time.
