Trunk is closed but opens during the night without any signs of tampering. What can be done to troubleshoot this problem? Had the same issue - twice. Trunk was definitely closed each time.

Trunk will not open using trunk latch nor key. Have to crawl into trunk through back seat and pull inside trunk latch.

Trunk open light flashes on bumps

the trunk should close firmly and not have any play, check the mechanism it should have a few philips screws holding it down, normally the mechanism is designed with slots that allows the mechanism to slide up and down, trial and error until you happy with the play on the trunk, if the light still stays on adjust the switch, this can be done by turning the locking nut below the switch to raise or lower the lever.

Locked my keys in the trunk. The trunk release botton wont work. How do I get my truck open?

I am not familiar with this model, but most cars nowdays have a way to get into the trunk from the rear seat. Either it folds down or there is a passage way into the trunk from the arm rest in the center. If all else fails you can jump across the wire on the trunk button to activat it if the switch is bad, but I don't think I ever saw one that went bad!

2008 elantra trunk release button on drivers door does not work. i am told there is a reset button on the lock but i cannot find it. can you help me ? if u can send a pic where it is it would help a...

Only thing I can think of is the emergency trunk release in side the
trunk on the trunk lid may be out of position. Open the trunk with
your key and have a look at it. Other wise you car should still be
under warranty, so let the dealer worry about it.

check the deck lid latch to ensure the wire harness did not get pulled off somehow... That would be the only thing I can think could cause the boot ajar light to stay on.

Locked my keys in the trunk of a 2009 hyundai elantra

if the car has a fold down back seat fold it down and try to reach in the trunk there should be a safety pull to open it or if you can reach the keys you are done ! if it does not have a fold down seat the fastest and safest way is call a locksmith or AAA if you have the service you dont want to start using a coat hanger or a slimjim on that car you could break the plastic clips that hold the linkage rods in place in the door and do some damage to the car . hope this helps

Keys lock in trunk alarm will not allow trunk switch to lock

The solution is to pull out the back seat to get into the trunk. There are two bolts holding the bottom part of back seat (bolts located between bottom and top sections). Then pull out bottom section of back seat and you see the hinge for the top section, remove the bolts and then you can lift up and access the trunk. It's not that hard.
