Question about 2005 Ford F 350 Super Duty

F-350 6.0l losing power

Runs great in town but once I get up to 80km going uphill or 110km on flat, it basicly loses all power and starts running rough. It calms down if I pull over for a minute but is only ok until I reach highway speeds again

Do any lights come on when this occurs? It sounds like the engine may be getting too hot and switching to limp mode, which basically shuts off the injectors to half the cylinders, essentially transforming them into air pumps to help cool the remaining 4 cylinders.

Why do my car slow down going up hills.and go normal on straight roads

sounds to me it could be a plugged catalytic converter. the symptoms are runs good , no strain, or on the flats, then loses power with exertion, or long uphill to the point you think it's going to just quit on you. easy test is to unbolt the catalytic inlet, and give it a quick test run. sometimes you can tell by having someone race the engine while you monitor the exhaust to see if enough comes out of it. usually happens over 75,000 miles

HYUNDAI TERRACAN LOSING POWER... Hi, I have a 2002 Hyundai terracan that has been losing power. along the highway and straight roads it was fine but on an incline it loses power and now has a job to do...

run the fault codes for an exact diagnosis but from your description of the problem I would be looking at a failing cat converter as it may be blocking up the exhaust system

Losing power when I accelorate.

Fuel filter is the main culprit when you lose power going uphill. Going level or downhill means that the engine doesn't have to work all that hard and doesn't demand much fuel, so a partially clogged filter can usually flow enough to allow the car to run smoothly. Going uphill requires signficantly more fuel, and if the filter is clogged up, it won't be able to flow enough fuel. This will bog the car down and cause you to lose speed. Change your fuel filter.
