BATTERY WAS GETTING LOW ON CAR. IT WOULD START IF I JUMPED IT OFF, BEFORE. aFTER i INSTALLED NEW BATTERY UNDER THE BACK SEAT, CAR WILL TURN OVER BUT NOT FIRE UP. I TRIED CONNECTING AND RECONNECTING BATTERY, BUT THAT DID NOT WORK. NO MESSAGES ABOUT ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM OR ANY THING. IS THERE A WAY TO RESET IT OR SOMETHING? ANY IDEAS?
Likely the PassKey system is in lockdown mode. You may need to take it to a dealer. I seem to remember something about turning the steering wheel back and forth while turning the key on some older models that had an ant-theft column... you might try that.

Have the new battery load tested, I have seen defective batteries, that goes double for non factory batteries like Autozone and other discount parts stores. If the battery checks out and it is just low on charge you most likely have a draw in the car's electrical system, that is to say something like a vanity light or interior light is on, that light can be a trunk light, a sun visor light and so on, check them at night. Put a charger on the battery if it is just a low charge problem and then find the draw
Buy yourself a volt meter and check the batter voltage before and after it starts. You should read 12 volts before starting and around 14 volts once it starts and the alternator is charging the battery. Also check for loose connections between the alternator and battery. Check that the ground wire from the battery is secured to the vehicles frame. Good luck!
That would make sense, because when he jumped your car if he left it hooked up for awhile. Then he charged your battery up, so it started the next day. Then you drove to his shop and back it ran the battery down. It's easy enough to test and change alternators you could take it to autozone or O'Reillys if there is one close they can test your alternator. If you have more questions about this or if you would like to try and change it yourself just reply to this post and I will walk you through it.
Return the battery and get another, sometimes because the battery set there too long and won’t work, I had twice when I had my Union 76 Station, after you try it, if you still can not start your son’s car. Let discuss more.
