Question about 1998 Ford Expedition

1 Answer

Does the 2000 Ford Expedition have a cabin filter?

It looks like there is a place under the passenger side for it with two hex head little fasteners. Can I pull this off somehow and insert an after market filter if there was not one originally installed?

Trying to find air conditioning recharge port (low side) on 2000 Expedition

I have run into this same problem. Try looking on the passenger side underneath the hood. It is usually on the line at the back of the engine behind the drier (accumulator). You really have to look but the little rascal is there.. "Its in the dark place" as my dad used to say.. Best of Luck

How do you get access to the cabin air filter?

On the expedition you go under the hood passenger side. The black venting that sits right next the hood will have some clips holding it together. Remove the clips and the cover and you will see the cabin air filter at the back of the opening.

1999 Beetle: cabin air filter 1999 beetle replace...

You will need to slide the center hump on dash directly above radio and vents backwards towards the widshield. You will notice a crease where the actual part containing vents meets the center hump that is just one piece itself. It should open up giving you access to the right side (passenger side) dash panel that has 5 or 6 screws (they are hex) that need to be removed. You will find the Cabin air filter under this panel after removing screws. it pulls out easily and the new one just sits back in place. Replace the screws and then align and slide the center hump back towards the back of car to lock into place. Relatively easy thing to do..

Where is the cabin filter located?

Your cabin filter is located on the passenger side. Open the passenger door and under the glove box you will when looking up you will see a panel to remove and slide the filter out. The filters are a little pricey, but if they are not flowing well they will affect the capacity of warm or cold air output.

The cabin air filter for your 2002 Buick Century is located under the cowl in the firewall between the engine compartment and the passenger side of the front seat. To change the filter:
1. Leave the wipers in up position.
2. Open the hood
3. Remove the weather stripping from passenger side of cowl
4. Unclip the window washer line (two or three places)
5. Remove the three fasteners with an ordinary screwdriver (one is easy, the other two were more difficult)
6. Take out the cowel cover
7. Remove old filter
8. Put in new filter
9. Replace cover, fasteners, washer line, and weather stripping.

Do it about every 20,000 km. I left mine for nearly 130,000 km and it was filthy dirty.
New filter costs about $12
