Check the plate under the distribtor cap. Also you said you replaced the coil but did you check the coil wire the goes to the distrib, they can rot off at the coil.

4x4 v8 1998 dodge truck won't start

well if ur not getting spark and u changed all of the ignition components lets think about the computer in order for the ignition to work you have crankshaft position sensor that fires the fuel injectors and the spark change that and if still nothing then change the camshaft postion sensor that sensor tells the computer that the 1 piston has came all the way up and it tells the crankshaft sensor to do its thing

I am not getting spark out of two of the 6 coil posts, I have changed the coil but still no spark from the same two positions. 2000 Dodge caravan 3.3

check or replace your crankshaft sensor. this senses notches on the crankshaft that tells the coil when to spark. follow the wire from the coil pack back to it. if the sensor and the crankshaft gear are ok, you have a computer issue.

take the ignition coil off and have the boys at advance or so test it, if it has plenty of resistance then you may wanna look at your crankshaft position sensor.

Check the connector at the coil pack/module. Four wire connector that supplies the coil pack with power and signal from crankshaft sensor.

Starting problems 1 out of 5 starts quiting and starting again

Check the connector to the coil pack/module. For wire connector on my 3.3L coil pack was not making a consistent connection and might have been corroded due to a bad connection. Also see if you are getting spark by pulling your front spark plug and grounding it to the cylinder head to see if you are getting spark all the time. Mine was hit n miss. I got lucky to have found this problem. If you are not getting any rpm on the tach what so ever during engine crank, change the crankshaft sensor. I changed the coil pack and crankshaft sensor prior to finding the connector was bad. Little over $100.00 but sensor was bad anyways.
