Brake and tailgate sometimes works

Since tail lights are not part of the brake switch, I wouldn't think so. This sounds more like a bad fuse or some other fault. Do either of the turn signals work? Are the turn signals a part of the brake lights or are they independent?

Tail light and backuo light are separate circuits. Backup light is under the control of the backup switch located on the shift lever or transmission. Thats why one might work right and not other. Most troubles of this type are due to poor ground connections Check again what you did to change the tail light assembly

2001 Grand Cherokee Limited- Driver side rear brake light does not work if tail lights are on. When you step on brake tail light also goes out. With lights off everything works ok.

Very common issue is the lamp assembly (dealer item). They are very bad to ground back through the tail lamp filament, lights on the path has voltage on it and the lamp will not work.

No brake lights on 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee

First thing to do is chk. the fuse for break lights, if thats ok, than i would say its the break light switch. As far as the right taillight, that could be as simple as a bad bulb.
