The idlers wear out too. If you or your mechanic haven't replaced the idlers, the belt will creep to one side and shred prematurely.

Another possible cause could be the tensioner is not set correctly. It's easy to misread the instructions and get it wrong.

Will bad front ball joints cause excess wear and tear on my front tires?

I vote yes. Any worn component of the front end be it ball joints, tie rods, wheel bearings, even tire balance will adversely affect tire wear.

1997 Jeep cherokee larado squeals replaced the drive belt a few times and it keeps tearing

Inspect the belt tensioner for the following conditions:
Noise
  • If the belt squeals, the tensioner force may be insufficient. Check the belt length gauge, if the length is correct, replace the tensioner.
  • If the tensioner clatters or rattles during engine operation, there may be internal interference or wear. Replace the tensioner.
  • If the belt chirps, you may have a worn pulley or tensioner or cracks in the tensioner bas or arm. Check the mounting bolts, if they are okay, replace the tensioner.
Sticking or Seized Tensioner or Idler
  • If the tensioner does not operate smoothly or doesn't move, you may have: internal thrust surface damage/wear, internal damage/wear, or a broken spring, replace the tensioner.
Appearance
  • Inspect the tensioner arm for cracks or other damage. If the tensioner is broken, it should be replaced.
  • Look for excessive tensioner movement at idle, which can indicate internal wear, an out-of-round pulley or loose mounting bolts. Check the mounting bolts, it they are in good condition, replace the tensioner.
  • Make sure the tensioner is not tilted or misaligned. Also make sure a gap exists between the tensioner arm and base. If you notice a problem, check the mounting surface, it the surface is okay, replace the tensioner.
Belt Tracking
  • If the belt does not track properly on the pulley tracking surface, you'll need to troubleshoot the problem. Check the mounting bolts and the system alignment. Then, make sure the correct belt is being used for the vehicle. If all of these things are intact, replace the tensioner.
Belt Length Indicator
  • A belt length indicator is built into each tensioner.
  • The gauge identifies the effective operating range of the tensioner.
  • It consists of a pointer and either two or three length marks.
    • On a three-mark gauge minimum belt length, maximum belt length and ideal belt length are indicated.
    • On a two-mark gauge only minimum belt length and maximum belt length are indicated.
    • Ideal belt length on a two-mark gauge is generally half way between the minimum and the maximum.
  • When a belt wears and stretches with age the tensioner will move towards the maximum belt length to maintain proper tension.
  • As the pointer nears the maximum length mark, replace the belt.

When i press my brakes my wheel shakes, what is this problem?

The brake rotors are warped. This is a common occurrence. It can be caused by numerous things; excessive rotor wear (too thin), uneven brake pad wear, sticky brake calipers, riding the brake pedal causing excessive heat buildup in the rotors, and over-torque of lug nuts are just a few causes. Having the rotors checked and re-machined may help, but normally they require replacement. If you replace rotors, it is advisable to replace the brake pads at the same time to avoid a poor wear pattern.

Why is the gear shifter on the 1996 ford escort shake when in 5th gear?

Often this is wear in the linkage and not a problem in the actual gear box. Often the bushings wear or elongate allowing for excessive movement. So when your driving along normal road vibrations that would otherwise be absorbed are being transmitted to the gear shifter and hence the shake you have identified.
In rare cases this is a problem with the clutch being out of alignment and in need of repair.

Excessive shaking while driving, have new tires, balanced and aligned several times. problem still exist

take each tire off and roll it a few feet. if it does not go in a straight line one of the belts in the tire has shifted. it's in need of replacement. after you have determined whether it is a tire, inspect the tie rod ends for wear. replace as necessary.

95 ford escort transmission leak

Dont waste your time and money trying to use a transmission stop leak product, they don't work on large leaks, you say the leak is excessive in this case the you must remove the transmission to access and remove the torque converter, after you have removed the torque converter carefully inspect the torque convert imput shaft for wear and also you will need to visually inspect the transmission front pump bushing for wear also, I have seen it all to often people just replace the seal thinking it was just a seal failure, well more times than not there is a reason for seal more than just the age of the seal, excessive wear on trans pump bushing and torque converter imput shaft is usaully the cause, check and repair those as good practice during this repair unless you just like to do the repair over again for free... also check the torque converter run out, sometime when they are repaired they are welded back together somewhat crooked which will cause it to spin off of a true center, this will cause immediate damage to transmission. Check also your engines crankshaft end play for looseness this can cause wobble which will transfer to transmission causing this problem as well... do the repair thouroughly and who ever does it for you have them check all that I listed and you should get a good repair which will last without issues.... please rate my help thanks...

Check your fuel pump relay. Timing belt could have slipped too. Remove cover and check belt for wear. Check plug wires for good contact.

Water leak

Unless there is any visible wear to the timing belt itself there is no reason to have to change the belt as well as the water pump.
