Question about 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee
My husband was getting ready to come home and when he turned the jeep on it was spuddering and pushing out pufffs of smoke he got it home but it then the jeep died and not will not turn on ? he has changed the O2 sensor and spark plugs about 2-3 months ago nows we have no idea what to do please help
You are going to have to repeat diagnostics. Were there any other codes besides o2 sensor when first problem happened? (o2 sensor often comes up but is not the cause but rather the result of another problem IE: a fuel or ignition problem will change exhaust gas composition triggering o2 sensor code that code is there not because the sensor is bad, but because the conditions which it is "reading" are far out of range. Check for proper spark, proper fuel pressure and volume etc. before buying anything! Check fuel pressure regulator as well as crank and cam sensors especially.Pay attention to colour of smoke: was it black or white? Was engine temp normal? Overall, just check everything 'till you "zone in" on which system isn't functioning properly!!!I know it's not an easy fix, but I'm saying is exactly what any tech would need to do!
